How can I tell if a Fire Insurance Co. Firemark is real or a reproduction?
I just purchased a FireMark. It says F I Co. (Fire Insurance Company) on the front and the back says 377. The entire thing is cast iron. How can I tell if this is an actual antique or just a reproduction?
Every real firemark I've ever seen, has had the NAME of the insurance company on it.
