If you're a keen reader yourself, creating and employing a beaded bookmark would make your reading experience more fun! Having beaded bookmarks also adds a posh elegance to an otherwise dull shelf of books.
You can decide to make your beaded bookmarks in 2 ways. You may either purchase a pre-made one and make a beaded trimming, or you can create all of it from nothing.
you will decide to start easy and make a store-made bookmark first. Bookmarks can be discovered in just about any book shop and you could even find some old ones around your home. Punch out a hole close to the top edge of the bookmark and fasten a tassel on it made of strings and beads of your choice. You may use embroidery thread and charms to make it unique.
You may also make a bookmark yourself by employing laminated paper. This is special as you can choose to print on it an image of your favorite art or you may even make a collage for your buddy. It's better to use heavy paper when doing this in order that it becomes more durable. Do the same thing as when you decorate a store-bought bookmark.
Paper bookmarks don't always have to have fancy pictures on them. Often you can decorate them with beads. Attempt to experiment with felt paper as it has that good fabric texture that you don't have to sew and most importantly it does not fray. Play around with curls and other fancy lines. Another bookmark that you can make is a straightforward book thong. These are just cords and strings with beads tied in them. Decorate these the same way you would a tassel.

Can I dye a dress with beaded trim?
I found my perfect weddding dress. I love it, and I've been looking for over a year. However, it's a used dress and it has some staining around the bottom of the dress. I would really like for my dress to be another color than white (specifically red). My concern however is that the dress has a beaded trim around the neck line and waistline. Is it possible to dye the dress without ruining the trim? The dress is only costing me $30.00 so I'm willing to give it a try. I'd just like to get some ideas before I attempt. Thanks!
