Bow Sights For That Perfect Aiming
Ability to aim at the target accurately and shoot is the core of competitive archery. For this, we need a reference point to rely on for propelling the arrow towards its target at a specific distance. The bow sights provide this reference point. The major function of bow sights is to deliver the right performance and promote accurate placement of the arrows. Accuracy though, would depend upon the extent of practice that the archer has undergone, proper tuning of equipment, and ability to incorporate an anchor point that is consistent. The bow-sight of course will be working as an aid to shooting and not guarantee perfect shots.
Major attributes of bow sights
With the increasing popularity of archery as a sport, there are several manufacturers who vie with each other for a share of this expanding pie. The key attributes of bow sights however remain unaltered and are:-
• An extension device or a mounting bracket ( for attaching the sight with your bow)
• Sight body or pin guard (to enclose and protect the pins)
• Sight mechanism consisting either of "pins" or a "red dot" (for aiming targets)
• The up/down or elevation and right/left or windage adjustment for tuning your pins to different distances
• Tools for adjustment if needed
Ideally, your bow sights set up should also consider a "peep sight" which is a tiny device in hard plastic which can be fitted within the bow string. While it takes only a few minutes to put this in place, the difference it can make to consistent arrow placement and anchoring can be huge. However, certain styles of bow sights can also function independent of the peep sight.

Can you put finger grips on a rubber coated bow and arrow string?
If you hunt with a bow and arrow usually, if you want, there are two plastic finger grips/placment things. Sorry I don't know what theyre called but I've seen them. And if you can could you tell me what they are so I I can get into greater detail? And I'm not sure what the coating is but it feels like rubber. Please help!!
Thinkingblade has given you the correct link. I am sure that is what you are talking about. A 100 years ago or so I used them when I first starting shooting a recurve. They work well. You just take off the string and thread it through the center of the finger protectors. They are made of rubber.
