How to restore a knife handle made of buffalo horn?
I am currently restoring a knife that was from my grandfather. It was not taken care of at all and I am taking on the challenge of restoring it myself. My question is, the handle is made of buffalo horn and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to go about restoring it.
The handle that is made of a water buffalo horn seems to be warn down by weather and by poor storage. It looks like it is raw and there was no finish applied to the handle. Its turning a greenish brown. This is a Filipino machete called a bolo.
