Cell Phones Manufacturing in Slovenia
Slovenia has a well developed telecommunications infrastructure with a combination of domestic and mobile cellular telephones. Slovenians are people who are technologically savvy who often keep in touch with cellular communications. As such the mobile- cellular tele-density of the country is roughly one hundred and fifty cell phones per one hundred persons. Due to this high demand, manufacturing of cell phones in Slovenia has witnessed rapid technological advancements. Cell phones in Slovenia have continuously and steadily overtook land phones as many of the cellular phones manufactured now provide internet access and cell phone computers. Manufacturing of cell phones in Slovenia is as such an integral part of the business community because of the revenue it draws. It is however worth noting that the Slovenian electronics market and especially in the capital- Ljubljana, fake counterfeit cell phones shroud the market reducing the profit and credibility of the real branded phones (CIA, 2010).
1.0 Cell Phone Manufacturing Process in Slovenia
The process of making Cell phone in Slovenia is no different albeit with small differences from other cell phone manufactures worldwide. It is a step by step process which has three main stages:
1.1 Concept and Prototyping
Cell phone manufacturing in Slovenia starts at the conceptual phase just like in many other manufacturing countries. At the conceptual phase, manufacturers create several sketches and wireframes using a number of designs features and interface options for example the touch screen and keypad. These sketches are used to determine the phone's size, weight, portability and scale among other factors. This is more often than not the most intensive phase in the process of making cell phones because the ultimate objective of most cell phones not only in Slovenia but worldwide is to be compact and portable. As a result of this significance the manufacturing team decides at this stage what designs will become prototypes. After a list is determined several prototypes are created. It is worth noting that these models are usually functional and as such only used for visual purposes. In Slovenia the prototypes are created from plastic, Styrofoam and other materials that can be re-used. After the final design is created, the concept that is developed at this stage is pushed to the Slovenian engineers who decide what electronics will be used to make the particular cell phone (Tyson & Layton, 2008).
1.2 Parts and Software
The engineers are the crux of the process of making cell phones as the key part of any cell phone is its electronics. This is because the electronics control everything in a cell phone for instance the way the phone displays information, sending of location information, making calls, among other cell phone features. As such different electronics are used depending on the features arrived at in the conceptual stage. Slovenian cell phone manufacturers concentrate on three key components of the cell phones they produce, namely the battery, the screen and the printed circuit that controls the keypad/signal reception. On top of the hardware used, the manufactures also incorporate software for the phone to work. Slovenian manufactures use proprietary software for their phones which is designed by a sequence of programmers that build up the design of the interface, the phones' basic/advanced operations and other cell phone features. Majority of Slovenian cell phones are by default programmed with basic features like text messaging, clocks, calculator and calendar. The phone then moves on to the construction stage after all the software and components have been determined at this stage (Plunkett, 2006).
1.3 Construction and Fabrication
Slovenian manufactures create each piece of the cell phone separately and the first piece made is the casing. Majority of Slovenian cell phones use a simple plastic that is created using a process known as injection molding. After the casing is created the printed circuit board is made and then loaded with the necessary software and operating system. The manufacturing crew then places the circuit board in the casing using a series of eyeglass screws. The next step involves the addition of phone components like the keypad, the antenna, the speaker and the microphone. After this stage of constructing the phone, the phone is moved on to be tested. At this testing phase, the phone's battery is added and consequently checked for power, button functionality and reception. After all this is done, the necessary documentation for the phone in accordance with the Slovenian legal framework is produced and sent to be packaged together with the phone. Finally after all the components have been verified, the phone is packaged and shipped to retail outlets in Slovakia and across global boundaries (Anonymous, 2009).
2.0 Fake and Real Cell Phones in Slovenia
Ljubljana is a market in Slovenia's electronic markets that is flooded with counterfeit and illegal mobile phones which are openly sold in most electronic markets with impunity. Currently, counterfeit phones make up two to three percent of the Slovenian market. The magnitude of the situation is realized when one establishes that smuggled contraband phones which include counterfeit and authentic phones account about half of all mobile phones sold in Slovenia. In Slovenia, the counterfeit phones pour almost exclusively from china giving the Slovenian consumers the option of choosing anything form a cheap, disposable knock-off to a high quality reproduction at a minute fraction of the price. To appreciate the differences between the fake and authentic phones in Slovenia, it is imperative to divide the counterfeit mobiles into two main classes: low quality knock-offs exact copies of the latest models (Mulford, 2010).

What type of cell phone do you suggest for a 13 year old girl?
I want to get a cell phone, but I want something I can show off to my friends. I also want a girly phone that isn't too expensive. I want the phone to look nice, so no phones with like floral patterns on it. I am looking for a phone that is twice as good as an LG Keybo or a Lg Shine. Preferably one that has a keypad for text messaging.
The Samsung Eternity is great, but a bit costy. It has a sleek touchscreen with a full keypad on the touch screen, and lets you draw your texts.
If you want something cheaper i'll suggest the AT&T Quickfire. The touch screen isn't that great but the keypad is awesome and your friends will be jealous!
