The Growth of Embroidered Shirts - From Polo to Work shirt
We are all familiar with the polo shirt – now an incredibly common item of clothing, polo shirts are available in both luxury designer shops and in cheap high street stores. What differentiates polo shirts of course though, is what is embroidered on them.
Almost every polo shirt has an embroidered logo – and whilst some may function as uniform, promotional or corporate clothing, others just use embroidery to indicate what designer brand the polo shirt is!
Whilst more formal and traditional shirts can also be embroidered, and used for staff uniform in any and every kind of business, the comfortable polo shirt is often the most popular receptacle for embroidery, and is more suited to active lifestyles.
Embroidered shirts can be casual and relaxed, and available for every age group and both genders. As long as you use a reputable embroidered shirts company, embroidered logos can be beautifully produced in a huge variety of colours and designs. Many companies even use embroidered text in addition to their logo for clever (and more subtle) marketing purposes. And in conjunction with coloured stitching, coloured buttons or coloured collar linings, embroidered shirts of any kind can look just stunning.

How can I embroider on nylon webbing?
I have a Babylock BMP6 and Ellegante 2. When I try to embroider on the nylon strap or webbing (thinner than dog collar nylon), the threads loop up in the front. I tried changing my tension(a 1/4 turn at a time) but then the threads looped and bunched in the back. Help!! I've tried with no stabilizer, tear away, and cutaway and can't get a consistent smooth finish. I've tried thick and thin fonts. I know it can be done but need help, please!!
I would hoop a sticky stabilizer, then stick the webbing to the stabilizer. I would then use Ultra Solvy (a very thick water soluable) on top and poly thread to embroider with. The sticky will keep it immobile and the Ultra Solvy will lay the stitches on the top of the fabric surface. Also, make sure your bobbin area is completely free of any lint or dust and hold your top and bottom "tails" during the first few stitches. Hope this helps. Also, you might want to take a look at the Magna Hoops--they are made to secure odd ball items (like pet collars) without stabilizer. They are a bit pricey, but if you are doing a lot of these, it could be worth the investment and sanity.
