I have an Appy and i need a costume does anyone where to get patterns for horse costumes?
I'm thinking of entering a costum show and i need a costume though. My horse is an Appy that is alittle more than 14 hands if not exact. I can sow real well so I figured I could make a costume but i was wondering if there are any paterns to make it easier. Also does anyone have any ideas or know where to buy costume for horses?
I don't really know of any patterns but have you looked through different horse catalogs to get ideas. I've always had to make all of mine own costumes or I borrow one. The easiest one I did was a painter's outfit. I have a tobiono paint mare and we dressed up as painters. I bought two pair of bib overalls, one for me and one the biggest size they had. I bleached them both white, then splattered paint all over both of them. Then I fitted the overalls to my horse and tied them to my saddle. I put a paint brush in her tail and one on her headstall and I also tied a empty paint bucket to her chest. I thought it was cute and I won first place.
