5 Fire Hazards You Might Have In Your House
For most people, a home is a source of stability in life, serving as an environment in which to spend time with loved ones and entertain guests. However, the National Fire Protection Agency estimates that in regards to all fires that occur inside a structure, 92 percent of these occur in a home, to equal about 2,840 civilian fatalities annually.[1] Therefore, it is especially important to evaluate the presence of fire hazards in your home and act accordingly.
Kitchen and Cooking Hazards
Cooking is ranked as the leading cause of fire in the home.[2] However, it's easy to lessen the risk by following a few simple precautions. Clean your appliances and oven regularly. Make sure to keep any flammable objects, such as dishtowels at least three feet away from the stove. If you have a wood stove, a professional should inspect it each year before regular use.
Extension Cords
Never use an extension cord as a long-term solution for your electricity needs. A much safer alternative is to hire an electrician to install additional electrical receptacles. Improperly Maintained Home Electrical Systems

pattern sizes for a sewing project?

I'm really confused. I'm trying to figure out someone's size on a Mccall's easy endless options packet. However, I do not know how to locate the size? How would I do this? I already have the measurements but I just can't seem to find it. Please help me
Pattern sizes don't match ready to wear sizes, which you already seem to know. What size to pick can be an issue if she's very far off a pattern size 10 or if she's not a B cup.... there are ways around this, and here's McCalls' brochure on how to pick the correct pattern size.
http://www.mccallpattern.com/charts/index.htm (the problem with "very far off from a size 10 is that grading a pattern from one size to another induces some odd distortions that don't match most bodies... for instance, shoulder length remains nearly constant, but most of the Big 4 patterns allow it to increase with size, so the shoulders are suddenly slipping down to your elbows.) Most patterns in the Misses' range are drafted for a B cup; you may need to do some alterations for other than B.
Or are you asking about reading the pattern envelope? On the front of the pattern envelope, under the pattern number, there's a size given -- in the case of the one in front of me, it says "size RR (18W-20W-22W-24W)" which means the envelope contains pattern parts for that range of sizes.
