In the 1930 to 1950 period, which colours were used in embroidery on bedding?
Were muted colours used, like DMC's antique mauves & blues in their embroidery floss? I bought some hot iron transfers to use for a wedding gift, but the illustrations are black & white. Most are florals.. The bride likes greens & purples and the groom hates yellows. Please name some DMC colours if possible. Did they like brights, pastels, greyed tones, etc. ? Art students please tell me what you know about the popular colours of the times.
I think my grandmothers pillow cases had pink flowers and green leaves. Don't know how bright they were originally.
