How come my Brother SE-400 Sewing machine/ embroidery machine sucks at embroidering?
I recently got the Brother SE-400 sewing/embroidery machine due to the very cheap price and raving reviews. After reading the manual and going through it, I was disappointed in the quality of my embroidering. I loaded the bobbins in correctly and the spool as well, but for some reason the quality of the embroidery seems to be lacking and not close to professional at all.
Thread with the needle up unless otherwise indicated in the instructions.
There are probably a few more things you need to address - correct thread for the bobbin - it has to be machine embroidery bobbin thread. Correct stabilizer for the fabric as well as proper hooping.
Coats & Clark thread for machine embroidery is so-so. Black is ready bad as it tends to shred. Sulky is a little better. A couple of the best brands are Robison-Anton and Maderia.
