What is Scissors lift?
A man's ability is sometimes limited. When working on something, especially when working in the field of engineering, construction or wood-work, it can't be helped that you have to work on some machines or other things that can make the work convenient. Things such as lifting heavy objects or reaching a high place with heavy materials on your hands could be impossible. If they are possible, they pose a lot of risks and dangers to the life of the person doing it.
In this age of new technology and advancement of everything, there are some machines that help people do their job. One thing is what they call Scissor-lift. Also known as table lifts, these are platform or a mobile scaffolding that are used to raise heavy materials and objects and even people. This platform can be elevated in such a ways that the people can work on high working places. Scissor-lift can be manoeuvred by operators even on the top of it and it is built over a criss-cross support that can expand or contract as it goes up or down.
There are two types of scissors lift and they are determined based on how they are powered. The first one is powered by hydraulics wherein high pressure liquid is used to transmit through the machines. Once the machines are already powered by the high pressure liquid, the lift either expands or contracts. However, the danger with this type is the danger caused by some leakage of the high pressure liquid. The second type is called the pneumatic lift. While the hydraulic lift is powered by liquid, this type is powered by airbags. It has been noted however that lifts powered by airbag is not as efficient and powerful as the hydraulics because when it contracts or expands, it leads to some amount of bounce. In such case, the hydraulic ones are recommended but before using it, it important to study the manual and observe safety precautions to prevent accidents.
Scissors lift come in different sizes and kinds. The size of course, depends on the user's needs and the space as well. As for the kind, the lift can either be stationary or mobile. There is also a kind of mobile lift which they call the carousel lift. This is used when the worker has to work on a wide area since this lift is also used to carry heavy loads in the construction.
The platform of the lift is made of different materials but the best option would be the stainless steel because it is safer to use this one and it is considered to be durable and the standard of performance is high. When using a Scissor-lift, make sure that the lift is durable enough to carry heavy materials as it is very dangerous. Accidents always happen when people work with this lift so it is much better to understand the safety precautions before actually setting foot on the lift.

can I cut the power cord to a TV at school off?
i brought my xbox 360 to school today at essentials math so we could play cause we always have like 50 minutes left of no work cause we finish in like 20 minutes, and I brought everything and we asked if we could use the TV that she never uses its not even hers and my stupid foreign french teacher said " no " then we said " why " then she said " cause i say NO ". so is it ok for me to bring scissors and cut the powercord to the TV off while its unplugged and i wont get electricuted?
no, you won't get electrocuted if it's unplugged. But be careful, if you get caught you could get in some serious trouble.
