What is the most popular Lalaloopsy Doll?
No matter what age or era we live in, some things will remain the same; a girl's fascination with dolls is one of them. Rag dolls were the simplest form of dolls and very popular in yesteryears and now they are back with a great make over and not to mention a stunning personality and this time they intend to rule the hearts of young girls for a very long time. Launched by MGM Entertainment initially as Bitty Buttons the name of these rag dolls was later changed to Lalaloopsy; crazy as it sounds, the name actually complimented the modern button eyed rag dolls.
The first set of Lalaloopsy dolls comprised of eight individual dolls and a set of twins. The popularity of these dolls led MGM to introduce seven more individualdolls including Patch Treasure Chest; the Lalaloopsy doll for boys.
Each Lalaloopsy doll also comes with their own unique pet . The personalities of these dolls were greatly influenced by the origin of the rags used for making them and they acquired their names from the same source as well. Their birthdays fall on a special international event. These well-crafted dolls have an interesting background of their own and it is said that the last stitch magically brought them to life and instilled the unique characteristics of the rags from which they were fashioned in their personalities.
The "first eight Lalaloopsy dolls" include the graceful and bossy Jewel Sparkles; she was stitched from a princess's outfit. The sweet natured Crumbs Sugar Cookie was made from a cook's apron. A baby's blanket was used to sew the snoozing Pillow Featherbed. Spot Splatter Splash was created from a painter's overall and this doll is blessed with such amazing creativity. The smart and studious Bea Spells A Lot was crafted from a school girl's uniform while the prankster Peanut Big Top was stitched from a clown's costume. Mittens Fluff ‘N' Stuff was sewn from an Eskimo's scarf and snow activities are her life. Dot Starlight's interest in science can be explained from the fact that she was a part of an astronaut's costume.
Though all the eight Lalaloopsy dolls are special, Spot Splatter Splash is by far the most sought after. Spot Splatter Splash is the most creative of the eight Lalaloopsy dolls. Made from a painter's overalls and that too on the 25th of October the International Artist Day, it is not hard to see why. Incidentally this talented doll also shares her birthday with the legendary artist Picasso and this explains the paint stains that always grace her apron.
Splash has a good sense of clothes and she is dressed in a fashionable red and white dress which has stripes at the top and a polka dotted skirt. She wears a white apron over her dress and as she loves colors, she has added purple and orange buttons on each side.
Her apron has blue paint stains on it. Splash wears white shoes with red laces and ties her orange hair neatly in pony tails with pink bows. Her pet is a red and white striped zebra with a purple mane and a purple tail. Splash loves to eat spaghetti.

soon to be 19 year old still sleeps with baby blanket and rag doll?
my 18 year old will be 19 in a few months and is still clinging to her baby blanket and rag doll. she still sleeps with it every night, and it doesn't bother me at all, but she cannot sleep without it which is worrysome. is this normal for someone her age? should i be worried?
Speaking as a 30-something who had a blanket and a stuffed dog that stayed on my bed through college - and after until I got married - it isn't really harmful at all. I didn't NEED it to sleep, but it was comforting having something around. And... when I made my bed each morning, the dog and blanket just ended up in between all of the pillows. They were part of the bed. My roommates in college all (yup, all 4 of us) had some kind of something that we kept on our beds and slept with.
Now - at my age - I know exactly where my blanket and dog are in the house and when I have a really really bad day or I'm really frustrated and I just want some comfort, I pull them out and take a really good nap (or sleep really well that night.) It really is just a comfort thing. I know at least 2 of my old roommates are in the same boat with this - we keep them around to soothe our stresses in this hectic world.
YES, my husband knows about this. He says he totally understands and is really supportive. I guess he'd rather that I drown my stress in a blanket and puppy and sleep occasionally than have some other habit of drinking or drugs to help me cope. (He keeps his in a chest in the bedroom - he doesn't use them for anything - but likes knowing they are there... memories and associations with childhood things are often strong - and not necessarily unhealthy.)
My goodness - if all it takes is a blanket and doll to get a girl through - nothing wrong with that.
