The Only 2 Curves Needed For Adjusting Sewing Patterns
Adjusting sewing patterns can be quite a bit of a work if you do not have the right tools. Not everybody wants to wear the same factory produced monotonous designs over and over again. This is why standard patterns are available which you can use to sew your own dresses. But there is one problem with these sewing patterns.
Since they are made for everyone, they might not suit your unique body size. This is why it is important to measure yourself up and then make some adjustments with the patterns. This would not only depend on your body type but also on the kind of garment you are using. Now how can you do this if you do not have the right tools? The two curves are thus the most important tools for correcting sewing patterns.
Curve 1
The Designer's Curve is clearly the more famous tool for sewing patterns. If you are a newbie you might be wondering what curves actually are? These are nothing but specialized rulers which are used to measure up the patterns and adjust them according to your body size and garment type. The best part about this curve is that it has an international design so no matter which part of the world you come from, your needs will be adequately answered by this curve.
Measuring and calculating curves are the single most important task if you want to sew your own dress. The Designer's Curve ensures that both these tasks are done with the utmost clarity. It also has a well designed back and front armhole that makes the job all the more easier. So if you have never sewn anything in your life before, you should definitely get this curve!
Curve 2
Just because the Designer's Curve is the more popular one does not mean this curve is not important. The Tailor's Curve, as it is called helps to sort out the most troublesome and minutest of curves. It performs this immensely difficult task with a "spot-on" accuracy that you will not find hard to spot! It is difficult to find the accuracy provided by this curve in any other fashion pattern making tool.
Adjusting sewing patterns had never been cooler! The hip curve, the unseam and the back and front crotch curves in this ruler just make your work easier. If ever you have felt like sewing is a "work", I promise you that after using this curve, you will not find anything more relaxing and fun!

you didn't say how much sewing experience you have. there are free patterns at www.burdastyle.com or you could go to your local sewing shop and pick up a pattern. you just need a shirt pattern with what is called princess seams. the lace can just be sewn on where you think it looks right.
